Finding an ideal Host couldn’t be easier with our national database. All you have to do is follow these 5 easy steps.

1. Register & Create Profile

  • Fill out the registration page and the detailed profile form about yourself.
  • Search the database to find potential Hosts available in your area and see their basic profiles

2. ID & Background Checks

  • To view full profiles, use advanced search or be able to subscribe and connect with a Host, you must pass an ID verification and background check powered by Yoti. This can be found under Verification once you register. It requires a one-off fee of £20. See safeguarding recommendations for full details.
  • A ‘pass’ is shown as a green ID icon on your profile, grey for ‘still pending’. For your security you can only connect with Hosts who’ve passed.

3. Shortlist & Subscribe to Connect

  • You can select Hosts by personality and background and those who say they have DBS (criminal record check) certificates, or who are Covid vaccinated. Your shortlist is stored under your ‘profile’.
  • Choose a subscription package to be able to connect. There are 3 options starting from £45 for 1 month. See Pricing for full details. Payments will not renew automatically so you needn’t worry about terminating them.

4. Interview, Decide & Sign a Contract

  • To help you make necessary background checks on the DBS (criminal record) certificates and references see Safeguarding for full guidelines.
  • Organise a video interview with the desired Host, then follow up with a meeting in person
  • Agree the activity details of the homeshare arrangement and monthly fee of between £250-£350 and download our free contract template to help tailor and formalise it.

5. Make Admin Changes

  • Take into account any necessary changes you may need to make to your council tax status (students are exempt and will not affect a Host’s single occupancy status)
  • Check that the Host covers your contents on their home insurance policy.
