Why we started hapipod

The UK has a growing crisis at both ends of the age spectrum. Millions of older householders end up with large houses and space to spare, while young people in their 20s and 30s, as well as many older lodgers, struggle to afford rent in the areas where they want to live.

hapipod was built on a simple idea: what if those two groups could help each other?

A host gains good company, useful help around the home and a regular extra income that can lessen the burden of soaring bills. A lodger gets a comfortable, affordable place to live, often in a more convenient location than they could otherwise afford, and sometimes gains a friendship they didn't expect.

It sounds straightforward. And in many ways, it is. But getting the match right matters enormously. That's what we've spent a long time refining. We make practical homeshare available to independent adults of all ages and circumstances - we just help the right people find each other!
